With a career spanning more than 18 and a half years in the US Army, I honed my leadership skills in various roles before transitioning to the corporate world. Since then, I have held senior-level C-suite roles such as Deputy CEO, Associate Vice-Chancellor, COO, General Manager, and CEO across various public and private industries. In these roles, I have successfully managed workforces over 400 FTE, budgets over $250 million, and asset portfolios in the billions of dollars, instilling confidence in my ability to handle large-scale operations.
For the past decade, my career has primarily focused on non-executive director roles, where I have had the opportunity to lead. I am a Board Member and Senior Vice President of Lifeline Tasmania, also serving as the Audit and Risk Committee Chair. I have held leadership positions as a Board Member for the Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS) with Queensland Health, CHRRUP, a natural resource management (NRM) organisation, Yumba Bimbi Support Services, an NDIS provider, and Central Highlands Community Services LTD, a disability and social housing provider. My leadership extends to various Board Committees, where I have chaired finance, audit, and risk committees and served as a member of patient safety and quality committees.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Liberty University, an MBA from Norwich University, a Certificate in ESG and Sustainable Financial Strategy from Oxford University's Said Business School and a Certificate of Completion in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School online. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand (FIML), a Certified Professional with the Australian Human Resources Institute (CAHRI), a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
I have a wide range of experience, including leadership, organisational change and development, corporate governance, human resources, finance, budgeting, CapEx, risk, and audit. I have a proven track record of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels across both private and public sectors. You can rely on me to bring my expertise to your organisation and help drive it forward.
I have built a reputation for rebuilding and realigning organisations throughout my professional career. I am adept at managing complex and competing needs, operating effectively in challenging environments, and upholding brand integrity. My leadership skills are well-honed, and I have a proven track record of instilling a cohesive organisational vision through performance discussions, clear feedback, and timely issue resolution. This has resulted in a positive organisational culture, increased efficiency and effectiveness, and restored profitability.
I enjoy volunteering and giving back to my community and have for several years. I am a volunteer firefighter with the Tasmanian Fire Service and a Volunteer Ambulance Officer (VAO) with Ambulance Tasmania.
During my downtime, I enjoy many activities with my family, such as scuba diving, rock climbing, camping, hiking, and fishing.
